ROSIE WIBBERLEY
Rosie Wibberley is Green Party Candidate for Way District.
Rosie moved to the area over 30 years ago and runs an organic farm and forestry business in Cruwys Morchard with her partner. She helped put together the Tiverton Neighbourhood Plan which has now been accepted in a community vote. “We’re really keen to see any new development stepping up to the zero carbon commitment that the council has pledged, as well as tackling fuel poverty and the lack of housing that is genuinely affordable. We would love to see less of a reliance on car travel and more provision made to encourage safe cycling and pedestrian access”.
Rosie is also passionate about the environment we live in and is one of the founding members of the Tiverton Tree Team, promoting community engagement to plant more trees in mid Devon. “it was the unanimous wish of the community to plant trees to tackle climate change and enhance biodiversity, and it has been lovely to help facilitate this and see the rewards”.
She would also like to see a genuinely fairer society, one which invests in the local fabric from roads to schools. “Having lived in Devon for most of my life, it’s upsetting to see how much our infrastructure has deteriorated and community assets lost. We deserve better than this.”
